α-PHiP (also known as α-PiHP), is a stimulant drug of the cathinone class that has been sold online as a designer drug. It is a structural isomer of pyrovalerone, with the methyl group shifted from the 4-position of the aromatic ring to the 4-position of the acyl chain. In a classic 2006 study of pyrrolidinyl cathinone derivatives by Meltzer et al. at Organix, the alpha-isobutyl derivative of pyrovalerone, O-2494, was found to have the highest potency in vitro as an inhibitor of the dopamine transporter of the alpha substituted derivatives tested， however it was not until ten years later in July 2016 that α-PHiP was first identified as a designer drug,when it was reported to the EMCDDA by a forensic laboratory in Slovenia.

    4-Bromo-4-methylaminorex (4B-4-MAR) is a stimulant drug of the 2-amino-5-aryloxazoline class that was first synthesized in 1960 by McNeil Laboratories 4B-MAR has effects comparable to methamphetamine but with a longer duration. It produces long-lasting effects, generally up to 16 hours in duration if taken orally and up to 12 hours if smoked or insufflated. Large doses have been reported anecdotally to last up to 36 hours. The effects are stimulant in nature, producing euphoria, increased attention, and increased cognition. Anecdotally, it has been reported to produce effects similar to nootropics. However, there is no research to support the claim that it is different or more effective than other psychostimulants in this respect. Moreover, 4b-mar does not have the established safety profile of widely used clinical psychostimulants such as methylphenidate
